«A child understands lift not when told about it, but when a wing trembles in their hands.»
P. S. Yerokhin
Head of the Discovery Centre
A physicist by training, he has been building interactive exhibits for ten years. He assembled the centre’s wind tunnel from parts of decommissioned equipment.
What is here
Wind tunnel
Put your own wing in the flow and watch the smoke: you can see where lift is born and where the stall starts.
Gravity table
A marble satellite on a funnel behaves almost like the real thing: too slow and it falls, too fast and it escapes.
Engine stand
A model air-breathing engine is run to a schedule — with real sound and thrust shown on a scale.
